PEOPLE KNOW THEY’LL LIKE A SONG AFTER 5 SECONDS

A new study finds it takes less than five seconds for people know if they really enjoy a new song. Scientists from New York University found that reactions to a song clip could predict how people would feel about the entire song. Once hearing the entire song, people’s opinions didn’t change. Although —- the researchers discovered that listeners liked the song more if they listened to the complete song before hearing the clip. But the clip definitely gave them enough of a ‘vibe’ to know if they were going to like it. The findings were published in the journal Music Perception.
