PASSENGERS PUSH PLANE DOWN THE RUNWAY

Passengers onboard a small plane in Nepal were asked to push their airplane off the runway after a popped tire stranded it on the tarmac. The wheel burst on a Tara Air jet that had just landed at Bajura Airport. The lightweight Twin Otter aircraft was stranded in the middle of the runway, and the airport lacked the tools to move the plane. Passengers and security personnel – around 25 people total – were filmed pushing the green-and-white jet down the runway. A video of the scene appeared on TikTok. Eventually, another plane arrived carrying spare tires and engineers, who fitted the aircraft with a new wheel, and the plane continued on its way to Nepalganj.
