PARENTS WANT TO CHANGE THE NAME OF INNOVATION PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL
In Lake Nona, California, some parents want to change the name of the new Innovation Park Middle School. They are concerned that when you abbreviate Innovation Park Middle School, you get IPMS, and they don’t want their kids ridiculed when they wear T-shirts or sports jerseys with the initials I-PMS. A school board member says the board will look into the issue.
* … very cautiously.
* It’s only going to be a problem a few days a month.
* It was created as IPMS, and it should remain IPMS. Period.
* I can save them some money on a new sign. Just rearrange the letters to “Park Onion In Vat” Middle School.
* For a second I thought the word “innovation” was too big for the students to handle.
* Hey, it’s not that farfetched. We had a story yesterday where students couldn’t read a clock.
* I can also imagine the kids saying, “You’re concerned for when we wear t-shirts with the school name on them? Don’t worry about that happening.”
* As for the sports jerseys, if you could get the football team to play like they had PMS you really could have something.
* I say change the name. Even without the hidden meaning, it’s a little clunky.
