OPERA SINGER DIES MID-PERFORMANCE
Argentinian baritone opera singer Alejandro Meerapfel died on Friday during a performance in France. He was 54. Meerapfel had a heart attack during a performance at a music festival. He was appearing in Antonio Draghi’s oratorio “Dono della Vita Eterna,” which translates to “Gift of Eternal Life.” Ironic. Upon his collapse, emergency services quickly intervened and the audience members were evacuated. In a press release, the festival noted that Meerapfel was a “man of kindness” whose “modesty and talent will remain in our hearts.”
* He’s singing with the choir invisible now.
* Some people really put their heart into their work.
* Sorry if you were hoping for an encore.
* He was singing music from the 17th century. You might say the music baroque him.
