NIKE CEO TO TAKE PAY CUT
The CEO of Nike, Mark Parker, is taking a whopping 71% cut this year. He will be making only $13.9 million, mostly from stock and option awards, according to regulatory filings posted on Tuesday. Parker made $47.6 million in 2016. It’s a tough time for the company because of weak U.S. sales, a sagging stock price and stiff competition from Adidas. In June, Nike announced plans to lay off more than 1,000 workers.
* So, by comparison, those 1,000 workers took a 100% pay cut.
* Well, gang, back across the street to the Ivanka factory to see if they’re hiring.
* Poor guy’s probably the laughingstock of his gated community.
* I’m sorry, kids. Daddy isn’t going to be able to buy that 4th yacht this year.
