NEW YORK STATE INMATES TO GET COMPUTER TABLETS

All inmates in New York State prisons will soon receive free tablets. A company called JPay is providing the tablets at no cost to the state or inmates. The move is to give inmates access to free educational material and eBooks, and to file grievances and place commissary orders. The tablets will not be able to connect to the internet (* famous last words!), but inmates will be able to use the tablets to purchase music, e-books, videos, and other entertainment. There will also be controlled kiosks where inmates can plug their tablet in to send emails to an approved list of recipients. (* See!) Inmates will only have supervised access to the kiosks at scheduled times. JPay will get money from transactions that happen via the tablets (ebooks, music, videos, etc).
* The inmates will be surprised with the new tablets during lights out, as the warden goes from cell to cell placing mints on their pillows.
* You can put together a PowerPoint presentation explaining what you expect from your prison wife.
* Inmates will be able to use the tablets to purchase music, e-books, videos, and other entertainment, and make deadly weapons from the glass and metal parts.
* I predict some prisoner somewhere will figure out a way to make tablet hooch.
