NEW DATING APP POSTPONES PICTURES
A new dating app called S’More lets you post and chat with potential dates without any photos. App founder Adam Cohen-Aslatei said the S’More app is about “getting to know someone before you see them.” You have to interact with a person on the app, and only then do their photos unblur and their private and visual content begins to unblock. The theory is that when you are not basing your attraction to someone on appearance, you’re able to make deeper connections. The app recommends five profiles for you a day. You’ll see a few personality traits and listen to a voice recording of the person. From there, you simply have an online chat through the app. Throughout the conversation, more details about the person are unlocked.
* S’More? Isn’t it really L’ess?
* It’s sort of like an Indian arranged marriage with text messaging.
* Speaking as a professional in the radio industry, where we are judged on our voices before anyone sees our faces, let me just say, “Yikes.”
* Just please make the photos unblur slowly, in stages, so we don’t get hit with the truth all at once.
* By the way, I don’t know how much the app costs, but you folks know how to blur your own profile photos, right?
* So it would be bad form to open with, “On a scale of 1 to Lizzo…”
