NEW BASEBALL TEAM: THE MACON BACON

The summer college baseball league is getting a new team next year in Macon, Georgia. They’ve now unveiled the team’s name: Macon Bacon. The logo is a strip of bacon swinging a bat. The name was chosen out of five finalists: Macon Bacon, Macon Soul, Macon Hits, Macon Heat and Macon Noise. Co-owner Steve DeLay said. “This is a big moment for us to now have a name and a brand, and the community has been hugely supportive, and we’re looking forward to taking off from here.”
* Oh, stop being such a ham.
* When you have bacon as a choice, no other contender stands a chance.
* Will they be playing out at Smith Field?
* The mascot will be a blob of cholesterol.
* “That pitcher is really throwing with some sizzle today!”
* Dang. Now I want a BLT.
