M&M's GET CARAMEL FILLING

M&M’s will soon have a new option vying for your taste buds’ attention. The candy company is adding a caramel filling variety. Called M&M’s Caramel, each bite-sized “lentil” of the candy has a soft caramel center covered in milk chocolate. The company often experiments with flavors – such as mint and chili nut – but not fillings. It’s calling the caramel addition one of the biggest launches in the brand’s history. Hank Izzo, vice president of research and development of parent company Mars Chocolate, says caramel is extremely trendy: “It’s a $2.2 billion flavor segment and the fastest growing segment in food right now. We want to be part of this category.” (* Izzat so, Izzo?) The company is investing in a new $100 million manufacturing plant in Topeka, Kansas to make the candy. Caramel M&M’s won’t hit the market until May, 2017.
* M&M’s get new fillings, so you can lose yours.
* Butterscotch gets screwed again.
* Does this moron realize that Skittles has already done this?
* And how about this whole pumpkin spice craze? It’s gone too far. Yesterday I saw pumpkin spice-flavored pumpkin spice.
* Wait, a new flavor of M&M’s? Why the hell wasn’t this breaking news?
* And has their been any reaction from Eminem?
* Correction: the fastest growing segment in food right now is not carmel. No, it’s the segment of the population that’s obese.
* They’re not fools. They got it out just in time for Halloween.
* You mean the chili nut M&M’s didn’t work? How did that happen?
* I wonder how much the head of research and development at a candy company weighs? I’m going to guess 400 pounds.
