METAPHOR SINKHOLE OPENS ON WHITE HOUSE LAWN
A sinkhole has been growing on the north lawn of the White House, just near the press briefing room. Voice of America reporter Steve Herman observed, “It was noticeably bigger between Sunday and Monday. It’s more than a foot long right now.” A second sinkhole has opened up right next to it. As we all know, thanks to our American history classes, parts of the city of Washington, DC, are literally built on a swamp. Sinkholes have opened up across the city in recent years, although this is the first report of one on the White House lawn. The city has geological issues including something called a “forebulge collapse,” a post-Ice Age condition that means the city could sink as much as six inches this century.
* Trump promised to clean out the swamp, but now the swamp is coming for him.
* A forebulge collapse. I think I had that once, but I blame the alcohol.
* The Army Corp of Engineers say they can fix the foot-long sinkhole for $17 billion.
* Next comes the plague of locusts.
