MARIJUANA COMPANY BUYS ENTIRE TOWN

American Green Inc., a maker of cannabis products, is buying an entire town – the 120-acre town of Nipton, California – for about $5 million, and plans to invest as much as $2.5 million over the next 18 months to create a pot-friendly tourist destination. Nipton is a former mining town, from the California gold rush days. The town currently has a general store, a hotel, a school building and mineral baths. American Green, based in Tempe, Arizona, will use the existing structures and build new ones – powered by renewable energy – to revitalize the town. Project manager Stephen Shearin says, “We thought that showing that there was a viable means of having a cannabis-friendly municipality and further making it energy independent could be a way of really inspiring folks to say, ‘Why can’t we do that here?’”
* Job #1 is to convert the school into a Cheetos factory.
* Now, Nipton is part of the Acapulco Gold Rush.
* It’s like Mayberry, if Andy Griffith was Snoop Dogg.
* They could convert the town to a pot destination in 6 months, but, like, what’s the big hurry, man?
* If people in other towns think “Why can’t we do that here?” there’s no reason for them to visit Nipton – but whatever.
