MAN STOLE ITEMS FROM OPEN CASKET

A Flint, Michigan, man has been ordered not to attend open casket funerals after stealing items off the deceased. Art Wenzlaff, 76, was accused of taking a Detroit Pistons hat, a Timex watch and two bowling alley rings from a casket during a funeral service for his coworker’s father. He was sentenced Monday to one day in jail and five years’ probation. Wenzlaff pleaded no contest on charges of larceny and disrupting a funeral or memorial service.
* Hey, it’s a funeral, not a rummage sale.
* No one would have missed the watch or the rings. But the hat?
* They say you can’t take it with you. Especially if this guy’s at your funeral.
* It’s like the opposite of taking candy from a baby.
* A Detroit Pistons hat, a Timex watch and two bowling alley rings. What, is this guy too lazy to browse through thrift stores?
