MAN MARKS 10,000TH RIDE ON DISNEY RADIATOR SPRINGS RACERS

A California man just marked his 10,000th ride on the Radiator Springs Racers ride at Disney California Adventure. John Hale is a regular at the park. His five-year journey to 10,000 rides began after a gastric bypass surgery and two knee replacements helped him lose 150 pounds. He first rode the Racers on preview day, and fell in love with the ride. Since then, Hale has returned to the park 760 times, riding the Cars attraction an average of 13 times per visit. He once took 47 rides in a single day. He said his quest to reach 10,000 rides has helped him remain healthy, and he’s even done several Disney half-marathons and 5Ks. The Disney fan said he hopes his accomplishment will inspire others.
* … to waste their lives on kiddie rides.
* “We so proud of you, son,”… is something his parents would never say.
* The ride is about 6 minutes long. 6 minutes x 10,000 rides = 60,000 minutes, or 1,000 hours. Not including travel time to and from the park. A life well spent.
* Now 10,000 rides on It’s a Small World – THAT would be a feat of courage.
* Gee, it’s almost as if this story magically appeared to make us forget about the Legionnaires’ disease outbreak at Disneyland.
* To thank him for his patronage, Disney California Adventure is giving him his next 100 rides for free. JUST KIDDING!
