MAN JUMPS FROM CAB TO AVOID FARE, DIES

A 41-year-old North Carolina man was killed early Tuesday morning after he jumped out of the window of a moving cab in an attempt to avoid paying for his ride. Michael Curl took a trip to the Dixie Classic Fair, where he was working, refused to pay for the journey and jumped. Police say Curl died from injuries sustained after hitting the ground. The driver kept driving and contacted a dispatcher, not realizing how badly Curl had been hurt. He won’t be charged in the incident.
