MAN DAMAGES BUBBLE WRAP “ARTWORK”
Vancouver police are looking for a man who damaged a piece of art at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Did he slash a painting? Knock over a sculpture? No – he popped some bubble wrap. The work, titled “Delta Trim” by Indigenous artist Maureen Gruben, is a “mixed media” construction, about 3-feet-by-4-feet, made of bubble wrap, reflective tape, Velcro, zip ties and moose hides. The vandal was seen popping some of the bubble wrap back on February 3rd. Investigators said the cost to repair the damage is approximately $5,500 to $6,500.
* Or, about 5 bucks if you head to Home Depot.
* The suspect answers to the name “Pops.”
* Making a piece of art out of bubble wrap is like leaving a box of donuts out at the gym. You’re just asking for trouble.
* Bubble wrap, reflective tape, Velcro, zip ties and moose hides. Why didn’t Michelangelo ever think of this?
* They thought they repaired the bubble wrap pretty good. Then the porcupines attacked.
