MAN CONFESSED 90 MINUTES AFTER ROBBERY

A man who robbed a New Orleans bank – but called the FBI to confess 90 minutes later – pleaded guilty to bank robbery in court last week. Eddie James, 41, will be sentenced in August. Back on November 2nd, James was on his way to work at 10 a.m. when he decided to rob a bank in the River Bend area of New Orleans. He gave the teller a note saying, “This is a robbery!! Don’t look up. Put the money in the bag!! Don’t chance it!!” But an hour-and-a-half later, at 11:30, he called the FBI and asked to speak to the investigator handling the robbery, who was still at the scene of the crime. James told the agent he was having trouble paying his bills and decided to rob the bank.
* Then he asked if he could at least have the reward money.
* He would have confessed earlier, but he wanted to go home and watch The View.
* What was the problem? Did the money smell bad?
* Robbers remorse – you see it all the time. Well, not with white-collar crime, like all those Wall Street thieves, but you see it with the working Joe.
* They could make this into a 20-minute episode of “Criminal Minds”.
