MAINE LOBSTER PREDICTS SIX MORE WEEKS OF SUMMER

You’ve heard of Punxutawney Phil the Groundhog. Now, there’s Passy Pete the Maine Lobster, who just predicted six more weeks of summer. Passy Pete got his name from being fished out of the Passagassawakeag River, which runs through the town of Belfast, Maine. He made the prediction by selecting a scroll with his claw that read, “Down in Belfast the weather is holding fast, summer will last six more weeks!” Two business owners, David Crabiel and David Brassbridge, came up with the eccentric idea as a way to have fun. They claim Passy Pete Pete has correctly predicted the extended season for the third year in a row, although forecasts for the Northeast call for fall-like conditions in the coming weeks, and really – who’s really keeping track?
* So, David and David – are we having fun yet?
* “Down in Belfast the weather is holding fast, summer will last six more weeks!” sure is freakin’ hilarious.
* If only Punxatawny Phil was this accurate. And delicious.
* Passy Pete is a weather forcaster, just like Al Roker. Both of them will take your finger off if you don’t hold them carefully.
* Let’s have the groundhog and the lobster face off in a backyard kiddie pool.
