LOST DOG FOUND, THANKS TO SAUSAGES
Two ultramarathon runners didn’t come home after a run on Saturday night in Scotland’s remote Fisherfield Forest. Mountain resucuers found the men on Sunday, and flew them out by helicopter. However, the helicopter scared away a dog belonging to one of the runners, a border collie named Nell. So, on Monday, two members of Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team went back to the scene to find her. They brought along a portable grill and started frying sausages and bacon. It wasn’t long before a confused and anxious Border collie appeared on a rocky hillside. Nell was eventually secured and after a picnic lunch, and she and her rescuers walked the five miles back to the road.
* Followed by a dozen foxes and six badgers looking for a handout.
* Thank God, and Jimmy Dean.
* Of course, it was Scottish cooking, so the first think Nell said was, “What else ya got?”
* They didn’t report this, but I bet they found the lost runners by clanking beer bottles together.
* Moving forward, the rescue helicopters should be covered with a layer of hot dogs.
