LONELY SINGLE MEN HAVE A “SKILLS DEFICIT”

There is a surge in the number of lonely, single men in the world. Data shows that dating apps are overrun with men, and figures collected in the US in 2019 showed more men than women were single. And single men are statistically less happy, more likely to be unemployed and financially unstable. American psychologist Greg Matos wrote in a recent Psychology Today article that the current state of young and middle-aged men’s love lives shows they need to “address a skills deficit.” Modern men’s biggest problem is communication, Dr. Matos says, and society fails to teach young boys the importance of communication. He says he hears recurring dating themes from women between the ages of 25 and 45 that they prefer men who are emotionally available, good communicators, and share similar values.
* So, what I’m hearing here is, I should get a dog?
* Maybe the problem isn’t communication. Maybe the problem is more girls need to get into role-play gaming.
* Single men have a “skills decifit”? Give me a break. Ask any married woman about her husband, you know what she’ll say? “He has a skills deficit.”
* Skills, shmills. Back up to the part where we’re talking about men who are “unemployed and financially unstable.” They wouldn’t lonely if they were loaded. End of story.
* Or maybe, just maybe – they’re ugly?
* Come on, ladies, everyone knows its your job to choose a guy and change him into the person you want him to be. That always works.
