LIBRARY HAS STEAK SAUCE BOTTLE MYSTERY

Employees at the Avon Lake Public Library in Avon Lake, Ohio, are finding empty A.1 Steak Sauce bottles behind their books. The labels have been peeled, they’re dishwasher clean, dry inside and out, with just a hint of A.1 smell still lingering in the bottle. The first bottle was found inside of newspapers in January. They have since found another 30 bottles in the library, most of the time behind books on the shelves. There have been times when they’ve found as many as three or four a day.
* It’s either a prank or the worst Dan Brown mystery plot ever.
* Hey, better the empty bottles than puddles of steak sauce.
* “Why does the library smell tangy today?”
* Hiding cleaned-out A.1 bottles in a library. That is one weird fetish.
* The ghost of a former grill man at the nearest Outback Steakhouse?
* Sure, it’s dumb. But it’s the most excitement they’ve had at the Avon Lake Public Library since somebody found a dollar bill in a copy of Wuthering Heights.
* Dang it. Now I want a cheesesteak.
* Let me guess…the whole town is talking about it.
* Oh, and everybody has a theory, right?
* Bud, over at the barber shop thinks it could be space aliens.
* Most town folk don’t care what it is – they just want it to stop.
