JUDGE ORDERS EX-NEIGHBORS TO SHARE CUSTODY OF DOG

A Pinellas County, Florida, judge has ordered two former neighbors to share custody of a dog. Tina Walker adopted a black lab, named Elario, two years ago. Walker also helped take care of her neighbor David Somerville, a Vietnam veteran, after he had lung cancer surgery. During that time, Somerville had been the dog’s main caretaker, paying for the dog’s food, vet bills, and toys. Then, things soured between the two neighbors and Walker moved, taking Elario with her. But Somerville sued Walker for sole ownership of the dog, because he had grown so close to him. A small claims court judge ruled Walker and David will share custody of the canine, like divorced parents of a child, swapping weekends with the black Lab.
* Soon to be an episode of “Life in Pieces”.
* The bad part: The dog gets carsick every time he’s taken somewhere.
* Why don’t they flip a coin for who gets the front half and who gets the back half?
* I just hope that when each one gets the dog, they don’t tell him bad stories about the other person.
* All Elario knows is, he gets double the dog treats. Elario knows how to work the system.
