IT’S NOT JUST A PHASE, MOM

Reddit asked, “What’s your ‘It’s not a phase, mom!’ that turned out to just be a phase? Some of the responses:
– “Wearing Doc Martens everywhere (even on the beach).”
– “I bought a BMX bike and was convinced I would be in the X Games. Turns out I lack the coordination (and bone density).”
– “Long hair. I thought I’d keep it too until male pattern baldness hit me in my thirties.”
– “My Jnco jeans in the 90s. I was convinced they were peak fashion and I’d never stop wearing them.”
– “Being a vegan. I was convinced I would be vegan for life. Lasted for 4 years.”
– “My Bieber haircut. I regret it so much.”
– “Me wanting to be Lilly Truscott from Hannah Montana in the 5th grade and wearing long sleeves and a beanie during the summer in Phoenix.”
– “If you scroll far enough in the comments section for the ‘Bring Me to Life’ video by Evanescence on YouTube, there’s a comment from 14 year old me that says ‘I feel like I’m the only one who can relate to this.’ I’m 22 now and cringe thinking about it.”
– “Wearing shorts in the winter. From 2002 until 2007 I rarely ever wore pants. My mom said she wished I would grow out of that phase because I looked like a crazy person wearing shorts in 15 degree weather. I said it wasn’t and that I hated pants. I did in fact grow out of that phase.”
– “Wearing a corset and top hat.”
– “My skateboard career lasted about 30 mins in my 40s. It lasted until I came off and severely broke my ankle.”
* PHONE TOPIC: Did you go through a notable ‘phase”? Was it just a phase, or are you still into it?
