ITALIAN CITY WILL PAY YOU TO GET MARRIED THERE
The tourism board for Lazio, Italy – one of the country’s most popular regions – has launched a plan to bring people back after the pandemic. Called “In Lazio with Love,” the region is enticing people to get married there with a free $2,000 to spend on their wedding. 9,000 couples have had their wedding in Lazio since the start of the pandemic, compared to more than 15,000 in 2019. To qualify for the grant, couples must get married anywhere in the Lazio region which includes Rome, Viterbo, Tivoli, Latina and Bracciano. The money must be spent on Lazio-based wedding services, such as planners, venues, catering, and photographers.
* You can even use the money at a cleaners to get bolognese sauce out of a wedding dress.
* Are you allowed to spend the whole 2,000 on gelato? ‘Cause, boy, I would.
* If you don’t spend the whole $2,000 they give you the leftover balance in meatballs.
* Slightly more romantic than the promotions to get married in Hell, Michigan.
