IRISH WOMAN LOSES DISABILITY PAYMENT AFTER BEING CAUGHT TOSSING XMAS TREE

A Irish woman had her $820,000 insurance claim dismissed by a court after a picture emerged of her winning a Christmas tree tossing contest. Kamila Grabska, 36, had claimed that a car accident in 2017 left her with “debilitating pain,” leaving her unable to lift heavy bags and keeping her in bed on bad days. She claimed that she had constant pain in her back, neck and spine and was unable to do chores or play with her two children. She received a payment of $820,000 for her disability. But a year later, in 2018, a newspaper published a photo showing Grabska tossing a pine tree in a Christmas tree throwing contest. She won the contest. The insurance company took her to court for fraud. During the hearing, Grabska claimed she had just wanted to get back “living a normal life.” The judge agreed with the insurance company, and Grabska’s case was dismissed last week; she didn’t get the money.
* But she did get a lovely Certificate of Participation from the Christmas tree tossing people, which is nice.
* What clinched it was video of her chopping up the tree for firewood.
* Bet she’s tannenbummed.
* I guess the moral here is, if you win an insurance settlement, spend it as fast as you can before they get wise.
