INDIAN DOCTOR ATTEMPTS SURGERY USING YOUTUBE VIDEOS, KILLS PATIENT
An Indian doctor is being accused of causing the death of a 15-year-old boy after operating on him for gallstones while watching YouTube tutorials. The boy’s family brought him to Ganpati Hospital in the town of Saran last week after he had vomited several times. Ajit Kumar Puri, a doctor at the hospital, decided that he had to operate on the boy to remove a gallstone that was causing the vomiting. After sending the teen’s father away on an errand, the doctor operated without the family’s consent, but the boy’s condition worsened during surgery. The doctor was reportedly watching YouTube tutorials during the operation on how to remove gallstones. Dr. Puri called in an ambulance to transfer the boy to another hospital, but the patient died on the way. Dr. Puri then left the body on the steps of the other hospital and went on the run. He has yet to be found. Both the victim’s family and police suspect that he wasn’t a real doctor, which turns out to be a fairly common thing in India.
* The YouTube was how to replace the heating element in a clothes dryer, but the concept is pretty much the same.
* Don’t do this, folks. If you’re going to perform surgery according to YouTube tutorials – always, always, watch them ahead of time.
* A fake doctor trying to remove gallstones takes a lot of gall.
* The errand he sent the father on was to go drop his malpractice insurance check in the mailbox.
* The family better make sure that the police looking for him are actual, real police.
* That’s all we have from Saran, so, that’s a wrap.
