INDIA TO TAX TOILET SEATS

Residents of Himachal Pradesh, a state in northern India, will now be taxed based on the number of toilet seats in their homes. The region is having a financial crisis and is looking for new ways to generate additional revenue. The introduction of the Toilet Seat Tax comes at a time when the government has been promoting sanitation initiatives and working to improve hygiene across India. The new tax will impose a monthly fee of 25 rupees (30 cents) for every toilet seat in homes located in urban areas. The money will go to fund water and sanitation services in the state.
* The citizens of Himachal Pradesh will not stand for this!
* And here I thought pay toilets were a thing of the past.
* The general reaction of the residents: “I can’t believe this crap!”
* Boy, the tax man gets you coming and going, huh?
* They’re gonna start seeing a whole lotta toilet seats piling up at garbage dumps.
