IN ASPEN, COLORADO, HOMELESS MEN DINE ON SURF AND TURF

Aspen Police Department last Tuesday evening checked on a report of smoke coming from a popular homeless campsite near the quaintly exclusive town. A police sergeant tromped through the brush and found two homeless men well-known to local police. They were huddled around a full hibachi, grilling lobster tails, rack of lamb and salmon steaks. They also had a 12-pack of Stella Artois beer that was unopened. The officer told them, “You guys can’t be cooking in the woods when it’s this dry.” The men then opened three or four of the beers and doused the fire. The men told the officer they’d just received a paycheck and were celebrating with the choice meal.
* I’m guessing in Aspen, the word “homeless” automatically comes with “quotation marks”.
* Homeless men spending their paycheck on surf and turf. Another in a long line of good decision-making.
