IHOP WON'T SERVE ARMLESS BOY WHO EATS WITH HIS FEET

An Arkansas mom says workers at a local IHOP refused to allow her son – who was born without arms – to have breakfast at the restaurant because he eats with his feet. Alexis Bancroft, 25, says that her 3-year-old boy, William, learned in therapy to eat by sitting on a table and using his feet. But when Bancroft and her husband took their kids to an IHOP in Hot Springs for a pancake breakfast Saturday, the general manager told the family that William couldn’t touch the syrup container because of health department regulations. Bancroft said she took her son to the bathroom and washed his feet before eating. She then asked the manager, “Do you ask all of your customers if they washed their hands before they touch the syrup containers?” The family was offended and left immediately. The manager has since been placed on leave.
* Maybe he can find an open seat at one of the Starbucks sensitivity meetings.
* Show me in health department regulations where the word “feet” and “syrup” are used in the same sentence.
* Here’s a crazy idea: Let the family have a nice breakfast, then run the syrup container through the dishwasher. DUHHH!
* She makes him put on his own syrup? Does she make him butter his own waffles, too?
* I’d be more concerned with picking up something gross from the IHOP bathroom sink.
* It’s not like he’s going to cause a breakout of athlete’s waffle.
