HEARING “I LOVE YOU” ISN’T AS GOOD AS WATCHING YOUR TEAM WIN

New research has found that feelings of happiness last longer after your favorite sports team wins in comparison to hearing your partner say “I love you.” A poll of 2,000 adults, from Capital One, found hearing someone say “l love you” makes people feel good for an average of four hours – but the feel-good boost from watching your favorite team win lasts longer: four hours and nine minutes.
* But that’s not true for _________ fans because they never hear that their team wins. (insert (Pittsburgh Pirates/Oakland A’s/Washington Nationals/or any losing sports team)

Here is their length of happiness list:
– Spending time with family – 4 hours 33 minutes
– Booking a holiday – 4 hours 31 minutes
– Getting home from a holiday with a glowing tan – 4 hours 13 minutes
– Your sports team winning – 4 hours 9 minutes
– When your child makes you a piece of art – 4 hours 1 minute
– A partner saying ‘I love you’ – 4 hours
– Playing with your pet – 3 hours 47 minutes
– Finding a bargain in a shop – 3 hours 39 minutes
– Finishing a workout – 3 hours 36 minutes
– Cleaning/tidying the house – 3 hours 36 minutes
– Eating a chocolate bar – 3 hours 34 minutes
– Getting complimented – 3 hours 30 minutes
– Having a cold alcoholic drink on a hot day – 3 hours 17 minutes

* The happiness from eating the junk food will be shorter if you weigh yourself after.
* Having a cold alcoholic drink on a hot day only makes you happy for 3 hours and 17 minutes? That’s because you only had ONE, dummy!
* Getting a great bargain at a store leaves people feeling satisfied for three hours and 39 minutes, which is longer than the joy you get from eating a chocolate bar. Why not go buy something on sale, and also buy a candy bar from the checkout stand while you’re paying for it. Six hours of bliss!
