HAWAIIAN FLOODS CAUSE ROAMING BISON

Flooding over the weekend on Hawaii’s island of Kauai caused problems for ranchers when the waters freed a herd of bison from their enclosure. Witnesses in Hanalei reported seeing bison swimming in Hanalei Bay, wandering the beach, and running loose through nearby neighborhoods. Hanalei resident Ryder Guest said he nearly crashed into one of the animals while driving a golf cart on the beach. The bison were contained by Sunday night.
* Hawaiian buffalo. That’s right up there with poi and pineapple as most popular native foods.
* Oh give me a home / Where the buffalo roam / On the Waimea beach of Kauai …
* They were swimming in the bay, wandering the beach, making sand castles, having clambakes …
* Bison in Hawaii? Is that, like, America’s emergency backup herd?
* The buffaloes are thinking, “We left the crappy weather in North Dakota for this?”
