GUY SUES DATE FOR TEXTING DURING "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY"

In Austin, Texas, a man is suing his date for texting during a movie, according to a petition filed in small claims court. Brandon Vezmar, 37, of Austin filed the claim Thursday against his date. He is asking for $17.31, which was the price of the movie ticket to a 3D showing of “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.” Vezmar met the woman online and went with her on their first date May 6 to the movie. “It was kind of a first date from hell,” he said. About 15 minutes after the movie began, she started texting on her phone “at least 10-20 times in 15 minutes.” Vezmar said he asked her to stop but she refused. He said he told her that maybe she could go outside to text. She left the theater and never came back. She also left in her car, which they had driven to the theater, leaving Vezmar without a ride. He said he texted her a few days later asking for the price of the ticket back but she refused to pay it. The woman, who wishes to remain unidentified, said she only texted on her phone in the theater two or three times, and that she was texting a friend, who was having a fight with her boyfriend. She refused to pay him back because “he took me out on a date.”
* At least he let her keep the popcorn she ate.
* Was she texting with that clicking sound turned on?
* “It was kind of a first date from hell,” says the man who can’t afford to be out 17 bucks.
* An internet first date didn’t work out? When does that ever happen?
* This woman deserves to die alone, with her many cats.
* I’d sue her for twice that amount, because now he has to go back and see the movie again since she screwed it up for him the first time.
* Wow, never pick a fight with your ride.
* I wish it said how he got home: walking, hitchhiking or what?
* I love how he takes her to this big romantic movie: Guardians of the Galaxy.
* Maybe if she was a space alien she’d appreciate it.

* PHONE TOPIC: My date from hell.
