GUY FINDS COMPANY’S $4 MILLION CHECK, GETS BAG OF CANDY AS THANKS
A German man is complaining after he found and returned a $4 million check to the Haribo Candy Corporation. The man spotted the check on a train platform and was surprised to see it was made out for a whopping €4,631,538 (euros). He contacted the Haribo company about his discovery. They requested that he destroy it and send them a photograph as proof, which he did. For his efforts, the company sent him a box with just six normal-size bags of their candies. He said: “I thought that was a bit cheap.” When scolded by the media, the company said it was simply ‘standard’ practice. Besides, since it was a named check, nobody but the Haribo company could have cashed it. “It was our standard package that we send as a thank you,” they said.
* Let’s be honest – you look at the bag of Haribo at the checkout and think, “I’ll have a Snickers.”
* True: there are many, many reviews on the internet of how Haribo Sugar-Free Gummi Bears work as a massive colon cleanse.
* Six bags of candy is their standard thank you. When they want to be mean, they send ten bags.
* This guy saved their accountant, what, about ten minutes of work cancelling out the check and cutting a new one? They ought to have given him 10 minutes worth of that person’s salary.
* Look, Hans, God knows when you’re only doing a good deed for the reward. Stop being a chump.
