GRENADE FOUND AMONGST THE POTATOES AT FRENCH FRY FACTORY
A bomb squad was called to a French fry factory in New Zealand after a worker on the production line found an old grenade among the potatoes. The device was apparently dug up from a farm in Matamata and delivered to the East Tāmaki Mr. Chips factory. A worker spotted the grenade among 28 tons of Ranger Russets potatoes at the start of the fry-making process on Tuesday. An investigation found it to be a training version of a Mills bomb – a common World War II hand grenade – which contained no explosives.
* Then what the hell are the New Zealand army throwing at the enemy?
* “Sorry – pineapple factory’s down the road.”
* French fries? More like French DIES.
* So the spud was a dud.
* That tater could have left a crater.
* One grenade per 28 tons of potatoes? I guess that’s supposed to make us think it’s not so bad.
