GRANDMA TESTS OUT HER RICIN RECIPE ON THE NEIGHBORS
A 70-year-old woman at a Vermont retirement community was arrested for poisoning her neighbors with ricin. The suspect is Betty Miller, 70, a resident of the Wake Robin retirement community. Police say Betty Miller was plotting to hurt herself with homemade ricin, but first she tested the poison’s power on her neighbors. Miller told investigators she researched ricin for months before harvesting 30-40 castor beans from plants growing on the Wake Robin retirement home’s property. On at least three occasions, Miller put the deadly powder in other residents’ food and drinks to see what would happen. One individual became ill with symptoms compatible with ricin ingestion last weekend. That person is now well. Last Monday, Miller drove herself to the hospital to get checked out and allegedly told health care professionals about what she’s been up to. Police were told and they came and arrested Mrs. Miller.
