GRANDMA GETS JAIL IN FAILED MURDER-FOR-HIRE
A Virginia grandmother will serve 12 years in state prison for putting a hit on relatives after losing custody of her grandson. A county judge on Monday sentenced 45-year-old Tammy Smith Kelly of Stevensburg, Virginia. She pleaded guilty in August to four counts of solicitation to commit murder. Kelly lost custody of her grandson last fall and attempted to arrange the killing of his maternal grandparents and their two adult children. In court Monday, Kelly apologized for her actions, saying she made a “very bad choice” and deeply regretted what she had done.
* Grandma, what big plans you had.
* She deeply regretted not offering the hit man more money.
* Wait – did you say 45-year-old grandmother?
* What happened to just baking cookies and stuff?
* “Over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s cell we go.”
* Actually, I wouldn’t count on lots of visits from family members.
* I think they made the right decision on the custody issue.
* I pity the other inmates: 12 years of listening to her brag about her grandson.
* This is odd. Usually you don’t get the family murder attempts until we’re deeper in the holidays.
* This family’s next Thanksgiving is going to be more awkward than Trump meeting Obama today.
