GIRL BITTEN BY 17-FOOT PYTHON WHILE PETTING IT

A 4-year-old girl was bitten by a 17-foot python while at the Chicagoland Fishing, Travel and Outdoor Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois last Thursday. The girl suffered one bite to the neck and chest area, though they were non-life threatening injuries. The girl, who was with her family, was petting the python at the snake exhibit when the snake struck. There has been no word on what the circumstances were with the snake or its handler at the time of the incident.
