AUDIO: TRAVIS KELCE’S ACTING LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been trying to transition into showbiz. His first featured role is in the new FX horror series “Grotesquerie.” Travis’ character first appears in the third episode, which aired this past Wednesday. Travis plays Ed Lachlan, a compassionate orderly at a care facility. By the conclusion of the third episode, Ed and a character named Lois, played by Niecy Nash, are on the run. So, is Travis Kelce any good as an actor? Some were praising his performance, calling it Emmy-worthy. Others… well, they were more to the point, posting on X:
– “I just saw a clip of Struggling Boyfriend Travis Kelce in Grotesquerie and his mama is right – he can’t act.”
– “With all due respect, Mr. Travis Kelce, we love you so much for your authentic lovely personality that seeing you act serious is kind of cringe. There are so many fake people in the world, please just be you.”
– “Travis Kelce should leave acting roles to real actors cuz this is awful.”
– “Okay Ryan Murphy got a little too confident thinking he could turn Travis Kelce into an actor.”
– “He’s so unbelievably bad and his dialogue sucks. The scenes with him are uncomfortable to watch.”
* And those comments are just from the Swifties.
* This is known as “Thursday morning quarterbacking.”
* Just like his football position, his acting is offensive.
* The producers wanted horror, not horrible.
* Too bad the acting thing isn’t going better. He really needs the extra money.
* CLIP: A bit of Travis from “Grotesquerie.” Did you watch the show? What did you think of him?

WHAT JOBS ARE DATING TURN-OFFS?

Reddit asked, “What jobs are a turn-off for a serious relationship?” Some of the responses:
– “Friend of mine dated a chef. She says you never see them.”
– “I dated a professional swimmer in my early 20’s. She essentially lived in and around pools. No matter how much she bathed she always smelled of chlorine. It was nauseating.
– “Surgeons, I listen to them complain about their wives and kids during surgery.”
– “I am myself an attorney. Dating attorneys is the worst, even I won’t do it. We are not fun people.”
– “I had a friend that worked at a funeral home for 10 years. He always said he would have better luck if he told women that he had been in prison for 10 years.”
– “Artists. There is something about the art world that draws some of the most self-centered people on earth.”
– “Social media influencer – can’t deal with the camera rolling constantly, constant drama, possibly having to deal with her airing dirty laundry on social media.”
– ” I had a job as a janitor, and a lot of girls suddenly became disinterested in me when they found out I what I did for a living.”
– “Penguin Keeper at zoos. As cute as they are, that smell leeches onto and into everything.”
* PHONE TOPIC: What jobs are turn-offs for you? Do you have a job that instantly turns people off? (Maybe avoid the obvious ones, like cops, nurses, strippers, pilots)

U.S. NEWS

FLORIDA MAN LEADS COPS ON SLOW SPEED CHASE

A Florida man is in custody after leading law enforcement on a very slow chase in the town of Bunnell. Police say Kyle McNary, 33, and another man were in a Kia Sorento, arguing because McNary wouldn’t drive faster than 25 miles per hour. The passenger offered to drive. As they were switching places, the passenger was getting into the driver’s seat when McNary pushed him out, moved behind the wheel again and took off. McNary was soon involved in a hit-and-run crash. Police found McNary, and a chase ensued, reaching speeds up to 3 miles an hour. They used stop sticks on the slow-moving vehicle, and issued commands on their cop car speaker, which he ignored. McNary made several U-turns and eventually landed in a ditch, where police placed him in handcuffs.
* More of a mosey-speed chase, isn’t it.
* Not Fast and Not Very Furious.
* Seems to me police could have just walked up to the car during the chase, reached through the window and grabbed the keys. After stopping for donuts, even.
* I realize things move slower in Florida, but this is nuts.
* Maybe he knew he’d be arrested but there was a song on the radio he wanted to finish.

THE PASADENA PEE PEE BANDIT

Every few days, in Pasadena, California, a mysterious figure in a mask and latex gloves leaves bottles of urine on a utility box in an affluent neighborhood, and then vanishes into the night. Known as the “Piss Bandit,” (* or, to clean it up for radio, “The Pee Pee Bandit” or “Urine Bandit”) he’s been doing this for six years. Soda bottles, juice cartons, and even gallon jugs are filled with liquid. The bottles are marked “human urine.” The city once outfitted the box with a pointed metal cover in an attempt to stop the drop off, but the bandit simply tore it off and left a fresh batch of bottles. They installed a camera, but they found the guy is wearing a mask and gloves. Also, he stole the camera. Pasadena resident Grant Yansura, who launched a month-long investigation into the culprit, says the bandit isn’t a disgusting vandal, but a vigilante artist, like Banksy. Mr. Yansra says, “His dedication to his craft is what intrigued us.”
* Or maybe this is his way of giving back to the community.
* The guy is simultaneously Pasadena’s Most Wanted and Least Wanted criminal.
* “Bandit” is wrong. He’s not stealing other peoples’ urine. That would be even weirder. I think.
* They can put up another camera, but this is streaming video no one wants to see.
* Forget the utility box. They should be staking out 7-Eleven’s and coffee shops for anyone buying multiple Big Gulps and Trentas.
* As California problems go, at least it’s not as bad as fires and mudslides.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

ESCAPED GOAT RUNS HALF-MARATHON

In Newfoundland, Canada, the annual Conception Bay South T’Railway Trek half marathon was underway when the runners ran past a pumpkin patch where a goat resided. The goat became excited, broke free from his tether and metal collar and joined in the race. Joshua the goat ran about 3 miles before the owner caught up to him and loaded him into her car. But had become so popular with his fellow runners and spectators that the owner drove him to a spot about 800 feet from the finish line so he could finish the race. Joshua was presented with a participation medal at the finish line.
* Which he ate.
* Her goat running away really got her goat. Then SHE got her goat.
* Three miles for a goat is not b-a-a-a-a-a-d.
* In fact, among goats who run marathons, this goat is the GOAT.
