FLOATING FARM FAIL: CANNONBALLING COWS

Concerns have been raised in the Netherlands about a new experimental floating farm in Rotterdam harbor after two cows fell into the water. The dairy, which sits on a floating platform, opened in 2019 and gained international attention as the world’s first ‘floating farm’. Now, a second animal has had to be rescued from the water after it fell in while crossing to a small patch of grass on the dockside. The local Party for the Animals calls the project “madness,” adding, “A cow doesn’t belong on the water and intensive dairy farming isn’t right either. It’s a sorry sight to see.” Although the farm’s owner points out that cows can, in fact, swim. The Rotterdam City Council has assured the public that there will be an official inspection if another animal falls in.
* And after the inspection, a strongly worded letter.
* You’ve never heard of a cattle dive?
* A “fall into the water” or a botched escape?
* What do you mean, cows don’t belong on a boat? Ever been on a cruise ship?
* It’s bad, but it’s not an udder failure.
* The worst part is that the cowboys have to keep making very sharp turns during the roundup to avoid flying off the side of the barge.
