FISHERMAN HAS FUN WITH SHARK WARNING MONITOR

A fisherman in the Western Australia coastal town of Albany is accused of removing a shark monitoring device from a great white he caught and released, and then used that gadget to set off false alarms. The unnamed 48-year-old suspect allegedly triggered false alarms on three occasions, twice on Aug. 13, and again on September 4. Shark watchers saw their alarm go off and alerted swimmers that there was a shark in the area. The problem of course, is that now there actually is an untagged shark swimming in the area.

* Interestingly enough, that monitor conveniently fits on the guy’s ankle.
