DOCTOR AMPUTATES WRONG LEG

An elderly man in Austria had the wrong leg amputated. The 82-year-old was supposed to have his left leg amputated at the Friestadt Hospital. The correct leg had been marked with an arrow. Instead, for reasons unknown, the surgeon removed his right leg. The botched operation on May 18 went unnoticed for three days, and due to the man’s condition, he didn’t notice the mistake and had to be told by his two daughters (* And yes, he was hopping mad). The man will now have to have the correct leg amputated. The hospital says that the “very experienced” doctor responsible is currently on leave at her own request.
* Taking some time off to get her eyes checked, no doubt.
* On leave, or hiding from the family?
* Maybe the arrow was pointing to his other leg?
* “Sir, about your operation the other day – we have some good news and some bad news. Well, actually, there’s no good news.”
* I’d watch my wiener, if I were having my other leg amputated after this.
