DO COUPLES START TO LOOK LIKE EACH OTHER AS THEY GROW OLDER? NO.
There’s a theory out there from back in the 1980’s that says couples tend to grow to look more similar to one other over time. Is it true? No. New research has refuted the concept. Published Monday in the journal Scientific Reports, Stanford researchers have determined that couple’s faces may be similar but do not become more similar with time. The study argues that people are attracted to mates who look similar to themselves, but time together does not exacerbate these similarities. By comparing photos of 517 couples at the beginning of their marriages and photos of them 20 to 69 years later, they found their faces “do not converge over time.” The study did find that couples often look more similar to each other as a result of people seeking mates who look and act like themselves.
* I would argue that Bruce Jenner and Kris Kardashian have grown to look like each other over the years. But in a different way.
* Matthew Broderick’s thinking, “God, I hope not I hope not I hope not….”
* This theory is what scared Julia Roberts away from Lyle Lovett lo those many years ago.
* If this is true, how do you explain George and Martha Washington?
