DEEP-FRIED BUBBLE GUM

It’s wacky state fair food season. If you go to the New Jersey State Fair, you’ll be able to buy … deep-fried bubble gum. The Crazy Fried Things food stand is offering fried bubble gum and gummy bears, just $2 for what appears to be six pieces of gum, batter-coated and deep-fried, then sprinkled with powdered sugar. You’re apparently supposed to swallow the gum along with the fried dough.
* Blow a bubble full of chewed batter and watch everybody throw up.
* Bubble gum and fried dough. That’s gonna be one interesting b.m. the next morning.
* What do you want to bet they get the gum from the bottom of the cages on the Zipper ride?
* If you’re not planning to visit the New Jersey State Fair, just chew a piece of regular bubble gum and two tablespoons of bread crumbs.
* I hope the Crazy Fried Things food stand has a trademark on that name.
