CROW STEALS WINDSHIELD WIPERS
In Braintree, England, a crow has been tearing the windshield wipers off vehicles parked in a lot outside the headquarters for a community housing authority, and flying away with them. The crow, nicknamed George, has hit about 20 cars so far. Employees have been forced to take preventative measures, including covering the wipers with blankets and tarps while they’re parked in the lot. It is not known why the crow does what he does. University of Washington wildlife science professor John Marzluff says that crows often pick at windshield wipers and rubber seals around windows. They could be looking for food, or simply enjoy the feel of the rubber.
* It’s an update of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds”. They attack because they have a rubber fetish.
* So far, no stool pigeon has come forward.
* The best part? This is happening in England, where it rains one out of three days.
* Hey, at least George isn’t siphoning gas out of the cars.
