COUPLE SETS CRUISE RECORD

Bernard and Janice Caffary have set a record. They are the first guests to ever sail on 200 cruises with Carnival Cruise Line. The retired couple from Lakeland, Florida, have taken their 200 cruises over the past 15 years. The Caffarys average 15 cruises a year with Carnival. They estimate they have spent over $175,000. They are booked on cruises through December 2018. “We love the crewmembers,” the Caffarys say. “We have completed our bucket list of travels. We no longer book to go places but to travel with crew. They are our family and we are in touch with many from hotel stewards to staff captains.”
* Not so much family as captive audience.
* 200 cruises in 15 years? Still cheaper than buying your own boat.
* In fact, they only come off the cruise ships anymore to provide antibodies to the CDC for various noroviruses.
* Can you imagine their immune systems by now? They’re blood cells must be armor-plated.
* Ladies and gentlemen, the two people you least want to meet on your next cruise.
* God help anyone stuck at a dinner table with them. “And then we went to Belize.” “No, Janice, first is was San Juan. Then it was Belize.”
* They’d spend more time with their friends on land, but … y’know … they haven’t got any.
* To give you an idea of how many cruises that is, these two are now world-ranked shuffleboard players.
* Here’s a message from the staff that they can’t tell you: They’re not really your friends. You’re the customer and they’re just being nice.
* Frankly, they’re doing it for the gratuities.
* 200 cruises and no encounter with Somali pirates? Their luck’s gonna run out any day now.
* PHONE TOPIC: Cruises – love ’em or hate ’em?
