COUPLE MARRIED, JAILED ON SAME DAY
A newlywed couple in Empangeni, South Africa, managed to get married and jailed on the same day after police stormed their wedding for flouting the coronavirus lockdown rules. The unnamed couple had just said their “I do’s” last Sunday when armed police stormed the ceremony which was taking place in front of 53 guests. The groom, in his suit, and the bride, in her wedding dress, were put in the back of a police van. The 53 wedding guests who witnessed the ceremony were also arrested, along with the priest, and taken to the police station. Police reported the couple spent “their honeymoon under stringent bail conditions”.
* Oh, I bet that was one hot wedding night.
* “We’re into handcuffs, but not like this.”
* After the 53 guests were stuffed into a police van, did the cops arrest themselves for violating social distancing?
* The happy couple is registered at Kofi’s Bail Bonds.
* Worst of all for the guests, I don’t think the wedding cake will hold past the two-week quarantine.
