COPS DRESSED AS SANTA AND ELVES BUST COCAINE DEALER
Peruvian police disguised as Santa Claus and and elves swooped into a house in Lima to capture suspected a cocaine dealer. The agents, dressed in red, white and green outfits with flak jackets hidden underneath, jumped out of an undercover van on Sunday before breaking into the house with a large hammer to apprehend their suspect. The tactic of launching raids using operatives in dress-up is a common tactic of Peruvian police to assure the element of surprise.
* Especially when they bust down the door singing show tunes.
* An undercover van? Not a sleigh? Where’s the commitment?
* I can see it now. Santa breaks down the door of the house, and is hit with a hail of gunfire that pushes him back outside to collapse into a bloody heap in front of the neighborhood kids. Awkward!
* It sounds like the drug busts are secondary to dressing up in costumes.
* Next week, they’re doing a drug bust dressed as Man of La Mancha and Sancho Panza.
