CLOWNS STATIONED OUTSIDE SCHOOLS AS BUSINESS PROMOTIONAL STUNT
In Singapore, an educational business called Speech Academy Asia, which helps adults and children improve their public speaking skills, wanted to drum up some business. The best place to reach adults and kids? At schools. So, what did they do? They had people dressed as clowns stand outside of elementary schools, approaching the children and asking the kids to follow them. To put it mildly, there were some complaints from the parents. The academy has since apologized for the incident and promised it would not happen again.
* They were speechless?
* Yeah, Singapore doesn’t have a great sense of humor. That’s the country where they cane people. They don’t appreciate clowning around. (Google “Singapore caning Michael P. Fay)
* Maybe the concept was, clowns are scary, but not as scary as public speaking?
* The academy’s next sales plan is to attach discount coupons to pitbulls and let them loose during recess.
* I bet they have something REALLY great planned for Halloween.
