CHINESE MAN’S PET FISH DIES, SO HE EATS IT
A man in Henan, China had a pet fish – a silver arowana, a long, silvery freshwater fish native to South America that is prized by people who keep aquarium fish. The man bought the silver arowana three years ago, and under his care the fish grew from about 3 inches (10 centimeters) long to about 15 inches (40 centimeters) long. But the fish died after the tank’s water pump malfunctioned for five hours. The man attempted to save the fish by changing the tank’s water, but it was too late. Feeling that it would be a waste, the man asked a fisherman for advice, who suggested he steam cook it. In a viral video uploaded to Weibo last week, the man is seen cooking his once-pet fish, adding green onions and potatoes, noting that this was the most expensive fish he ever ate.
* But he did get the green onions and potatoes on sale, so that was nice.
* He loved that fish, in a couple of different ways.
* Was it really in an aquarium all these years, or was it, in reality, just marinating?
* The Delicious Circle of Life.
* The guy said that next he’s going to go get a pet pony.
