CATFISH DROPS FROM SKY INTO MAN'S POOL

Leonard Vanderpool, of Winter Haven, Florida, and his wife were just sitting down to watch re-runs of “The Lawrence Welk Show” on TV when they heard a big ‘BOOM’ outside. They ran outside to find a hole in their lanai and a catfish in their pool. He called police (how can a catfish push the number buttons?). The Vanderpools and the officer who came to help concluded that a bird must have been flying overhead with the catfish. For whatever reason, the bird let go, and the fish plummeted, crashed through the screen and ended up in the pool (* receiving high marks from the judges). The fish survived and was sent back to nearby Lake Ruby.
* Another one of those Circle of Life things.
* Yes, the fish survived, but now it thinks it’s a bird.
* If you think this is weird, just last week it was raining cats and dogs.
* Dropped by a bird? Maybe it was a drone delivery from Red Lobster gone wrong.
* Darn, you hate to have the Lawrence Welk Show interrupted by something like this.
* There’s even a term for when that happens. It’s called Polka Interruptus.
* Maybe that’s what happened. The bird couldn’t take the music, dropped the fish and left.
* Of course “catfish” has come to mean something else in the Computer Age, but if they’re watching Lawrence Welk I doubt if they’ve heard of it.
