CAMEL BEAUTY PAGEANT CONTESTANTS DISQUALIFIED FOR COSMETIC WORK
Saudi authorities have conducted their biggest-ever crackdown on camel beauty contestants, accusing handlers of using Botox injections and other artificial touch-ups on their animals. Over 40 camels were disqualified from the annual pageant, which takes place during the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival. Each year, breeders of the most beautiful camels compete for $66 million in prize money. Jurors decide the winner based on the shape of the camels’ heads, necks, humps, dress and postures. Botox injections, face lifts and other cosmetic alterations to make the camels more attractive are strictly prohibited. This year, authorities discovered dozens of breeders had stretched out the lips and noses of camels, used hormones to increase muscles, injected camels’ heads and lips with Botox to relax their faces, inflated body parts with rubber bands and used fillers to make them bigger.
* There’s nothing sadder than hump implants.
* Baby got Bactrian.
* I started out thinking how ridiculous this was, then I got to the part about the $66 million.
* What do they do for the talent portion of the contest? See who can go the longest without water?
* So I guess how this goes is, someone says “Look at that beautiful camel! There’s no way a camel can be that gorgeous without some help!”
* $66 million in prize money. Good to see all that oil money being put to good use.
